Description
Devido ao histórico de empréstimos e publicações com material da Coleção de Arachnida e Myriapoda do MCTP, os acervos de Arachnida foram divididos em aranhas (Araneae), escorpiões (Scorpiones) e opiliões (Opiliones). Contudo, outras ordens de Arachnida são menos representativas na coleção e foram, portanto, incluídas em um único acervo (e.i. Aracnídeos - ordens menores). Este acervo possui cerca de 700 lotes com aproximadamente 1000 espécimes conservados em álcool a 80%, ambiente com umidade controlada, sistema antincêndio e apoio técnico. A maioria dos espécimes foram coletados no sul do Brasil, mas há exemplares de todas as regiões do país. Este acervo é parte da Coleção de Arachnida e Myriapoda do MCTP, que abriga representantes de outras ordens de Arachnida (e.i. Acari, Pseudoscorpiones, Uropygi, Amblypygi, Solifugae e Ricinulei).
