Description
O acervo da coleção de abelhas do MCT/PUCRS, iniciada em 1983, é oriundo de pesquisas científicas realizadas no âmbito da Universidade, em convênio com a Universidade de Tübingen, Alemanha, especialmente em trabalhos de mestrado e doutorado. A coleção contempla a apifauna das diversas regiões do Rio Grande do Sul, onde se verifica alta biodiversidade, casos de endemismos, espécies ameaçadas de extinção e o limite sul de distribuição de várias espécies. O acervo é uma importante fonte de referência da fauna do sul do Brasil. Os principais serviços oferecidos: acesso de especialistas para exame de exemplares, empréstimos e troca de material com entidades acadêmicas e científicas.
