Description
A Coleção Entomológica da Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (CE-UFPE) abriga um importante acervo de espécies de besouros, abelhas, formigas, borboletas e esfingídeos, apresentando aproximadamente 60.000 exemplares e 2.000 espécies. A grande representatividade desse acervo é resultado de vários levantamentos realizados pelos grupos de pesquisa do Laboratório de Taxonomia e Ecologia de Insetos (LABTEI) e de insetos polinizadores (PLEBEIA), responsáveis pelos inventários nos diferentes ecossistemas das regiões brasileiras, principalmente no nordeste, como Caatinga e Mata Atlântica.
